The Process of Removing Wallpaper

The first step in the wallpaper removal process is to identify what type of wallpaper you are dealing with. There are three types of wallpaper, pre-pasted, self adhesive, and vinyl.

The second step is to determine whether or not the wallpaper is water soluble. If it is, we will use a hot water extraction method to remove it. If it is not water soluble, we will use a steaming method.

Once we have determined how to best remove the wallpaper, we will begin by removing any trim around the room. We then apply an agent that loosens the glue on the back of the paper. Once the glue has been loosened, we use a wetting agent to saturate the paper so that it can be easily removed.

The wallpaper is then removed by hand and the walls are cleaned to remove any residue. Any repairs that need to be made will also be taken care of at this time.
